You can automate the solar pool heating process by installing a Dontek digital solar controller, which monitors the roof and pool temperatures and then automatically switches the system on and off to ensure maximum heating efficiency is achieved.

Without a Digital Controller, you will have to manually open and close a 3-way valve to switch the system on and off and control water flow to the roof top system.

The Dontek Aquasun 2-2S is an Australian-made automatic solar controller with simple temperature adjustment, manual mode and winter mode features.

This solar controller can be used for both Independent Solar Circuit systems (separate solar suction line) and Retrofit / Integrated Systems (Solar is plumbed into the pool filtration line).
